Enjoy our delicious beef bacon ends! These are what remains after we slice our smoked and cured thick-cut beef bacon but doesn't fit into the archetypal "bacon" shape. This beef bacon is smoked and cured just like our regular pork belly bacon, but it definitely has its own unique flavor and way it cooks. I've baked it as well as fried it in the cast iron, and both work just fine. This cut will be either from the belly or the brisket. Occasionally they are short bacon slices (my favorite), but most of the time they're big 'ol chunky hunks of bacon with rind on. If you were to cook them just to eat, not as a flavoring, you’d want to cut them into smaller pieces first.
This comes with approximately 1/2 pound per pack in a vacuum-sealed clear bag. All our meat products are shipped frozen.
Marble Creek Farmstead is a sustainable family farm specializing in pasture-raised meats and eggs. Our beef, bison, and lamb is 100% grass-fed and grass-finished, getting rotated to fresh grass frequently. They're never given any hormones or antibiotics, or any feed besides hay and alfalfa in the winter. We use heritage breeds of cattle, including British White, Red Devons, and South Poll. Some of our happy beef cows are raised here on the Farmstead, and some are raised at a partner farm (Hurricane Branch) in Deatsville, AL.
We use rotational grazing because it heals the land, creates more nutritious meat, and is better for the animals. They get fresh grass to munch on, the movement breaks the parasite cycle (removing the need for chemical treatments), and letting the grass rest a while makes the plants and soil healthier. Raising so many different species creates a synergy that improves the soil health, which in turn creates healthier animals, which ends up making you and me healthier. Not only are pasture-raised meats better for the environment and have a much healthier nutritional profile than conventionally-raised meats, they are some of the most delicious meats out there!
